Manfred Bester's UNIX SatTrack is available at ftp.jvnc.net in /priv/kupiec. It tracks satellites in real-time on a VT-100 compatable terminal. The only satellite trackers for X are: (are there any others?) Source for these can be obtained at various sites. (use archie) Xsat: Makes PostScript maps of satellite tracks. Xephem: Tracks planets/stars in real-time, satellites can also be tracked. (A Linux binary of Xephem is available at the site mentioned above.) SFS: (Space Flight Simulator) Tracks satellties / moon / planets with views from many perspectives. Near real-time. Hope this helps. >In article , writes: >> Mun-Kong Lee (mklee@actrix.gen.nz) wrote: >> : In article , >> : Joachim Paganus wrote: >> : > Does anyone know if there is a satellite tracking program for X-windows >> : > that shows the satellite and its coverage over a map in real-time? >> : > (Like Traksat, STS+ and zillions of other tracking programs for dos) >> >> : In a recent rec.radio.amateur.space article Tom >> : (tom_boza@ccm.hf.intel.com) wrote about an article in the July/August >> : issue of THE AMSAT JOURNAL, in which it talked about a Windows prog.
